Since latency is not a big deal for me because of the way i work, i prefer the solidity of standalone. Files in BIDULE format can be opened with Plogue Bidule program in Mac Operating systems and Microsoft Windows based platforms. all it would entail would be load a different template (provided of course you set them up consistently). eg - supposing you wanted to try a cue using a different library - say LASS instead of HS. the other thing that interests me is that with standalone, you have the possibility of easily swapping templates. i have found that the server route is probably ok if you have a slave, but there does seem to be issues on a mac. I think the issue is not so much between VEpro and plogue but whether you want to go the standalone or the server route.
if you are using the server version of VEpro which is where you get your low latency then you have the issue of getting around cc7 and cc10. Bidule is a realtime modular creation studio aimed mainly at artists seeking a new creative. If you can work with VEpro then great, if not bidule has some things worth considering.įor example, there was poll recently about cc7 and cc10 in logic. if playing things in is your preferred method of input then i would suggest a sketch pad combi instruments and then extrapolate them to your template. the only bit of kit that seems to work reliably for them is plogue.Īnd yes standalone will mean latency but it just means you need to adjust your workflow slightly. I'd have said that as well but a lot of people i know (not guys on fora) have had a lot of problems with it.
